Which audience do you prefer targeting to: younger or older? I prefer younger, but: people would force me either give up manga or switch to older audience.

Why not both? All-ages stories are generally good, e.g. Toy Story, Up.

Why would you be forced to stop writing if you wanted to target younger people?

As long as you weren't taking your life into a dead end, I don't see why you couldn't write for younger people, and even then, hobbies are useful things to have.

I think what he's trying to say is that he's peer pressured into writing for an older audience. Like, he doesn't think he can draw "cutesy kiddy stuff" in front of his friends or something... At least that's what I think he is saying.

Yeah, people in my experience pretty much are like that.

The most praise I ever get from real life people is them asking me to come up with tattoos for them. That's about it. But yeah, unless you for some reason need constant support from other people, you learn not to care.

Doing what you feel like doing is honestly the most important thing, anyway, through, since that's where all your motivation comes from.

Also, yeah, that's right, you don't count as 'real' people. There, I said it. You buncha NPC fakers. *^*

Dreadful creatures.

But seriously, op, you want to have *some* audience in mind, so that your work isn't entirely self-indulgent artistic masturbation like Dominic Deegan, but you also want to be true to yourself.
