View Full Version : What's your favorite crappy game?

06-22-2012, 05:36 PM
Everyone has a favorite game that you know that it kinda sucks, but you like it anyways. If you cant choose exactly the one you like the most, just mention the 2 or 3 titles you have in head, no big deal. In my case, it's probably Spongebob and the curse of the flying dutchman, california speed on n64 or maybe silicon Valley xD Anyways, the important part is...What's yours? :D

F.E.A.R. 3
Dark Void
MW2 Multiplayer

06-22-2012, 06:48 PM
Silicon Valley was awesome for how bad it was I second that one

06-22-2012, 07:04 PM
Well if you think Spyro and Ape escape sucked... I loved those :P But Based on time and console, I think they are good games XP

So games I think was bad games but I still liked them... Mario Kart SNES and the Kellog's PC game.
Oh yeah, the 90s... Some good memories :P

06-22-2012, 07:10 PM
How was mario kart bad is this guy being for real

06-22-2012, 07:12 PM
spyro and ape escape were good too

06-22-2012, 07:16 PM

Just because it's old doesn't mean it's bad.

Edit; For proper terrible-yet-fantastic games, try anything by Kenji Eno/Studio Warp. D, D2, Enemy Zero...

Failing that, Illbleed (Dreamcast). Or Zombie Nation (NES). Or North V.S. South (NES).

Dog, I like terrible games way too much.

Edit 2; Or Deception (PSX)! Being ordered by satan to drop golden bathtubs and monty python feet on intrusive elves and girl guides for the win!

06-22-2012, 07:20 PM
I never said that. But the first mario kart were kinda bad for its time xD The graphic was worse than other games released on the same time, the control were bold and repetitive and the tracks were almost the same, only with different colours, blocks and backgrounds xD But hell, the game was funny and I played it throughout my childhood.

06-22-2012, 07:31 PM
I think I threw up in my mouth a little bit.

Can you name a mode7 racer on the snes better than mario kart?

06-22-2012, 07:35 PM
Well if you compare it to other Racing games, then sure it was the best. But I just compared it to other snes games in general xD But seriously, I never wished to discuss that. I just named a random game I remember that was worse than other games I played on the same console. I can't compare to other games the same genre, cause I think I've only played 1 game each genre for snes xD I was a 1-8 years old kid when I played them after all.

06-22-2012, 07:38 PM
F-Zero was older, but I don't think the first one had multiplayer...

Since Shigeru was pretty dedicated to making kart a multiplayer from the start, I would figure the graphics were little worse because they were worried about the poor old Snes pumping out two mode-7 screens at the time. I'm not sure if there are any games that did that before or not. But yeah. I own a bunch of worse racing games on old systems, just because they generally get thrown in for free in flea markets. :p

But what happened? Weren't we supposed to be talking about, like, personal favorite super-bad-terrible-awful games?...

06-22-2012, 07:40 PM
Opinions usually derail threads like these that are based on opinion. I blame Jubeh.

06-22-2012, 07:46 PM
But what happened? Weren't we supposed to be talking about, like, personal favorite super-bad-terrible-awful games?...

Yes but I will defend mario kart snes to the death. 18-directional sprites and not just one character there's a whole bunch drawn the same way. Clever maps, no blue shells. Brilliant little game.

Anyway re the topic I really the way of the samurai series. I think most fans wouldn't say they're bad but they're mechanically flawed in a lot of ways right down to the core design where you have to play the game like 16 times and do the same things over and over again to get everything. But when you get down to it I enjoyed my 16 playthroughs more than I enjoyed single playthroughs for most games.

Commodore 64. Aw yer.

06-22-2012, 07:52 PM
I'd notch it down to the fact that the music was that awesome... At least if you are talking about the C64 thing and not the PS2 thing, which I've never played. >_>

Cake you might as well list every jaguar game

06-22-2012, 07:57 PM
not to mention
Though that doesn't count for me cause I've never played Zero Wing XP Some of you might wanna add it to your list :P

06-22-2012, 07:58 PM
Cake you might as well list every jaguar game

06-22-2012, 08:10 PM
Zero Wing was not a bad game.

06-22-2012, 08:19 PM
hehe guess not, but the English translation were the worst translation in gaming history xD

06-22-2012, 08:22 PM
Basically nobody has actually played it, so eh. >_>

I could recommend night trap or plumbers don't wear ties or some crap, but really, guys... Kenji Eno.

Anyone can make tedious rip-off crap, but nobody else can make such hilariously super tedious rip-off crap with such delusions of grandeur. The only way I can really describe D2 is as what would happen if George Lucas watched The Thing and then played MGS1 in rapid succession, then thought "Yeah I could totally do that!".

06-22-2012, 08:23 PM
Fun fact: My parents beat both those games.

06-22-2012, 08:25 PM
dis game

06-22-2012, 11:23 PM

06-22-2012, 11:26 PM

06-23-2012, 12:10 AM

06-23-2012, 12:16 AM
H'okay Im obsessed with Pokemon.

06-23-2012, 12:26 AM
but pokemon have never been bad games have they? ever since red and blue it've taken the world of gaming by storm. But of course, personal opinions XP

06-23-2012, 07:07 AM
Gold, silver, and crystal were like the best pokemon games, too.

Also Yellow.

06-23-2012, 08:22 PM
I think the masterstroke of Pokemon was that there is actually a reason to wonder around instead of just grinding. I wonder how many people out there have played it who don't even normally like RPGs... Or vidya games, for that mater.

Also, Worms.

Bad graphics even for the time + insanely cheap AI = A great game?

06-23-2012, 08:40 PM
well, it was great! No arguing that :P I can't even count how many hours I spend playing that game with my brother. Trying to dig ourself through the maps and make bases before actually attacking each other XD /sigh, kids imagination.

06-23-2012, 10:32 PM
The battlezone series :)

Gold, silver, and crystal were like the best pokemon games, too.

Also Yellow.

Definitely yellow

06-23-2012, 10:50 PM
Well I like silver the most... one of my all time fave pokemon are Lugia! Though THE fave one is the Charmander family... Cannot say which I like the most... Charmander, charmeleon or charizard... Got some stories on that family that binds me to them. Charizard were the first pokemon card I found. Found it in a sandbox at school and it started my liking for pokemon that turned out to be eternal. Charmeleon were the first pokemon I got in a toy and candy pokeball and charmander were the first pokemon I picked on the gameboy game! Can't remember which game... yellow I think... or red.

06-23-2012, 10:57 PM
Oh, my bad , i didn't read the crappy part.
