You can talk about the anime/comic in this thread but its mainly for the video games.
John my time on miyogi is 3'5'780 what was urs again.
06-05-2012, 05:54 PM
iirc it was 3'4'113 or something like that
06-05-2012, 06:02 PM
Find out for sure how hard is it to turn your psp on
Edit: Also that track is called miyogi I found a translation of them
06-05-2012, 06:28 PM
do you turn your PSP right down? Cuz if you just move the power switch off quick it will sort of put it to sleep, you know
06-05-2012, 06:29 PM
Yeah I know that what Im saying is why couldnt you just turn your psp on see your time
06-06-2012, 12:00 AM
my time was 3'04"131

its hard going from one racing game to this game. I was playing forza 4 earlier and I kept messing up until I got used to it and when i went to play this game again i kept crashing into the guard rails
06-06-2012, 04:29 PM
ic I started watching the anime earlier and its better than the comic since the races are easier to understand. They use cg for all the car racing stuff.
06-06-2012, 04:55 PM
how far are you in the manga and the anime?
06-06-2012, 11:56 PM
Only like 8 episode he just beat this guy using a gtr. Everyone called it a "three two."
06-07-2012, 12:09 AM
ya the Nissan GTR R32. Maybe all drifting cars have a two-number name
06-07-2012, 12:19 AM
I just dont see why you dont get netflix its got like 4 seasons on there
06-07-2012, 12:42 AM
My friend lets me use his netflix and canadian netflix is different to american netflix. it aint got no initial d on it :(
06-08-2012, 07:13 PM
John touge densetsu is fucking great check out my car
06-08-2012, 07:20 PM
:ascii_omg: How'd you take a screenshot?
Also nice plate lol
06-08-2012, 07:20 PM
Im playing it on my pc. Its way more realistic than initial d. Not as fast but more rewarding when you nail a corner.
06-08-2012, 07:21 PM
hmm is it PC only?
06-08-2012, 07:24 PM
No its this game
06-08-2012, 07:26 PM
wait wait what. So you're playing the PS2 game on your computer? I wonder if that means I could play it. I'd need to find an emulator for mac tho
06-08-2012, 07:31 PM
This game is great so they give you some money to buy a car. You can save money by getting a used car or you can buy one new for more and then you can tune it up and change the settings like crazy. I used this dudes guide to tune my eight six for crazy drifts. I installed turbo tho and idk how I feel about it.
So you can get sponsors and stuff and do normal races during the day but night is where the action is cuz you can street race against dudes.
Edit: Whoa theres a dude in here who drives an 86 and is called tofu maniac
06-08-2012, 08:34 PM
cool, I want to get this game.
Also, my grandparents were telling me about when they went to Japan a few years ago, they went to the Nissan test facility and they went drifting with the mayor and his wife of the city wherever they were staying, idk where. I think around Sapporo somewhere.
06-08-2012, 09:26 PM
That sounds rad. Also Im seriously in love with this game. I have some car questions for u tho if you ever get on messenger.
06-09-2012, 02:48 AM
Ok I'll be on tomorrow probably
06-09-2012, 02:50 AM
John can you check this out and give me some pointers. I got kinda sloppy in a few places and I keep hitting the rail on some corners but I felt like I nailed some other ones.
06-09-2012, 02:58 AM
Yeah you did some good drifts there. I think the times when you hit the rails though are a combination of too much speed and your point of entry when starting the drift. You're either to close to the inside guard rail or too far out. Try taking the corners slower and/or at a different angle. You might not need to slow down in the end, but you might as well try to see if it works better. The last drift you did into the finish line was perfect though.
06-09-2012, 03:01 AM
Yeah I've done that last one like 500 times while trying to do this one challenge.
06-09-2012, 03:05 AM
oic. idk what this game is like but ya usually when u crash into the rails is because the entry point wasn't good
06-09-2012, 03:10 AM
Well I've tuned the shit out of my car so its probably my technique at fault.
In the non-career mode thing you can use any car you want so I tricked out this impreza but it was so fast I literally couldn't control it at all.
06-09-2012, 03:20 AM
nice thats the way to play
06-09-2012, 03:33 AM
What car do you think I should go to next I was thinking of using a silvia but idk what I can afford right now
Edit: Whoa I found an active forum of dudes who still play this. Im thinking about getting a racing wheel.
06-09-2012, 04:45 PM
You're taking this pretty seriously, huh? Also is there any way to test the cars before buying them? Because different cars are going to handle differently, especially whether they're FWD, RWD or 4WD.
06-09-2012, 06:12 PM
Ya u can test them Im looking at an rx-7
06-10-2012, 08:16 PM
New video I think I've improved but I got sloppy towards the end and went into some corners too fast. Also I have more automobile questions 4 u.
06-10-2012, 08:41 PM
ya not bad not bad. Though at corners like at 21 seconds where one follows another, you can use the e-break to swing the back around in the other direction so you can drift both corners rather than just the first one
06-10-2012, 08:54 PM
Every time I've done that I've lost control and this was a timed race so I didnt want to fuck up
06-10-2012, 11:05 PM
just practice it a bunch in another mode, because it could really reduce your time
06-11-2012, 10:27 PM
John I found a racing simulator with a mod that adds drifting and japanese cars
06-11-2012, 10:34 PM
i think ive seen that before, but idk if i can get it on mac. Do you know?
06-11-2012, 10:36 PM
naw u'd have to partition
edit: It also p much required a wheel or at least a controller
06-11-2012, 10:42 PM
man i have neither that I could use
06-11-2012, 11:01 PM
o jeez inside sim racing's review for gt5 is like 2 hours long. These guys take racing super cereal.
Also whats the deal with that shift 2 unleashed game
06-11-2012, 11:12 PM
what do you mean
06-11-2012, 11:15 PM
Whats the deal with it
06-11-2012, 11:18 PM
i dunno, ive been playing GT5
06-12-2012, 12:03 AM
Aight rfactor with the project d mod is p great. Just need to find some good touge tracks.
06-13-2012, 05:49 AM
John did you know that this is a thing
06-13-2012, 07:35 PM
lol nope, i had no idea. I want to do that now though
06-13-2012, 07:59 PM
Those little cars are p expensive like 130 bucks
06-13-2012, 09:10 PM
they look legit as hell tho. if it wasn't for the people standing there I woulda thought they were real cars
06-13-2012, 09:12 PM
Yeah I found an 86 also
06-13-2012, 09:15 PM
06-13-2012, 09:48 PM
ya they dont call it that they're just generically named I guess cuz of licensing reasons
06-14-2012, 01:10 AM
o ya that makes sense.
11-29-2012, 05:05 PM
John did you get Forza Horizon? It's supposed to have a decent touge track.
Also discovered this strange hentai game about downhill racing but you don't actually get to race. :(
11-30-2012, 12:27 AM
no i didn't get it. Though I'll get it if you get it.
11-30-2012, 01:20 AM
12-01-2012, 05:39 PM
so are you gonna buy it or what
12-01-2012, 06:31 PM
idk its expensive and I still gotta get halo
12-01-2012, 06:41 PM
y u gotta get halo?
12-01-2012, 07:18 PM
cuz I want to play halo
12-01-2012, 07:24 PM
aw man what
12-01-2012, 07:30 PM
Idk Im buying my parents a roku box for christmas after that I can put the 360 in my room and I might just get the older forza.
12-01-2012, 07:32 PM
cuz I want to play halo
hm ya i guess t-bagging people is fun
12-01-2012, 07:37 PM
Get the new Forza, it takes place in Colorado.
12-01-2012, 07:57 PM
oic so its a getting shot simulator
12-01-2012, 10:50 PM
I don't wanna c wut u did thar, but I c anyway.
03-24-2013, 01:05 AM
Man did you know AS 7 was out
I'm seriously considering just getting extreme stage on ps3 but its 50 dollars for a 5 year old game. Why no new touge games? :(
03-24-2013, 05:37 PM
idk man. that forza horizon game might be good for a bit of touge but probably not 2 much of it
04-17-2013, 08:57 PM
been installing for about 72 hours
04-17-2013, 09:33 PM
do u mean gt5
04-17-2013, 09:38 PM
ya i hope you mean gran turismo 5. and if u do we will race
04-17-2013, 09:42 PM
yes that's what I meant
04-17-2013, 09:43 PM
do you want to race man, do some drifting or wateva
04-17-2013, 09:47 PM
eh not today I just got it
04-17-2013, 09:48 PM
pfft. ok let me know when u want to play
04-17-2013, 10:56 PM
how do I get a hachi roku
04-17-2013, 11:50 PM
You gotta find one in the used car marketplace. It refreshes after each race, but i think ive got an extra one i can send you. Ive just got to wait for my game to download the updates for it. If i dont have one though, ill keep an eye out for one since they can be hard to come by sometimes.
04-17-2013, 11:55 PM
Cool I think in the meantime I'll buy a skyline
04-17-2013, 11:59 PM
Alright. Take some time to practice drifting to get a feel for how to do it in this game. Just know that you need less power than you might think to get the back end out. Also you have to get used to how different cars feel when driving them. Like, i can drift an 86 no problem but if i try to drift like an s2000 or something, im awful at it.
04-18-2013, 12:00 AM
Well Im looking at the r33 idk how I'd drift in it. I could get a 180 or a silvia maybe they seem cheap.
04-18-2013, 12:02 AM
As long as its rwd it should be fine to begin with. Avoid 4wd cars because they are awful to try to drift in
04-18-2013, 12:08 AM
I kind of want to learn how to drive properly tho so might get an impreza or evo at some point
04-18-2013, 12:09 AM
What do you mean by driving properly
04-18-2013, 12:10 AM
like with brakes
04-18-2013, 12:12 AM
Oh haha, yeah fair enough. After a few races you'll have enough to buy a decent track car as well as your drift car
04-18-2013, 12:16 AM
Whoa sileighty's in this game
04-18-2013, 12:18 AM
Ya but theres no E30, im dissappointed about that.
04-18-2013, 12:39 AM
Eh dont talk about cars like that in the initial d thread
04-18-2013, 01:08 AM
Whateva. Do u want to have a race
04-18-2013, 01:17 AM
Not tonight man let me train first and tune up my car
- - - Updated - - -
ty for the 86 btw even tho its a levin and not a trueno <_<
also after doing the 90s japan challenge they gave me a sil80 for free
04-18-2013, 01:18 AM
Maaaaan ok. If u need tips tho let me know.
Edit: ya np. There wasnt a trueno available and that was the only other 86 i had. If one of us finds a trueno tho you can either just keep that one or trade it back, idc. Also i just bought a fairlady z 300zx, so im gonna try to tune that up to use as a drift car so we're not both using 86s.
04-18-2013, 01:23 AM
So I don't get this game. I just want to use my r33 but all these races use specific cars so to advance do I have to get one of these cars?
04-18-2013, 01:27 AM
There are restrictions on some of the races, like some are only for cars within certain years, for a certain drivetrain, etc. your car either doesnt fit the category or is over-spec'd. If you need a certain kind of car and u dont want to buy one i can lend you one of mine. When we race tho there wont be any restrictions. If you want to practice with a car, theres practice mode too.
04-18-2013, 01:35 AM
Eh just dont any interest in anything other than 90s japanese cars
04-18-2013, 01:52 AM
Im p sure you can get by with using just those for a while. You just gotta pick the right races. Also when you drift, do you use automatic transmission or manual
04-18-2013, 02:00 AM
manual but I haven't really drifted yet
I'm tuning my car to drift and sometimes just do it without thinking about it tho
04-18-2013, 02:07 AM
Hmm ok. I just started using manual to drift and im finding it way better after a few laps around the special stage route 5. I find the 300zx i just bought does best in 3rd gear going around turns so i try to keep it in 3rd tho i will shift down if the back hasnt kicked out enough or up if its a long gradual corner. Its pretty much just doing laps and getting a feel for how your car perfoms under what circumstances.
