WARNING: SOME BODY MODS SOME PEOPLE MAY FIND DISTRESSING AND GROTESQUE. POSTERS ARE ASKED TO PUT PICTURES THAT COULD CAUSE UPSET IN LINKS AND TO STATE A CLEAR CONTENT WARNING ON POSTS.

Okay, so I personally really like some types of body modification. I would say within reason... but really, I mean do whatever the hell you like. You wanna have a split tongue? Fine. Hope that 18+ months of excruciating pain is worth it for you, even if I wouldn't personally do it.

SO HERE IS A THREAD TO TALK ABOUT BODY MODIFICATION.

You can talk about:
Piercings (http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Category:Piercings)
Tattoos (http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Category:Tattoos)
Scarification (http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Category:Scarification)
Implants (http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Category:Implants)
Extreme Modifications (http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Category:Extreme_Modifications)
Suspensions (http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Category:Suspensions)

Also hair dye and more 'out there' haircuts would be cool to talk about as well :D

Etc, etc.

If you don't like body mods, think they're gross, or that I or any other person is gross because of them or whatever then fine, have that opinion. Just please resist the urge to splurge it all over me, because I don't care and am still going to stretch my ears, pierce myself, and get tattoos.

Noooooo! *jealous of you over that plug* D|

Septum because they're easy to hide, and I kinda like how small-diameter hoops look. It's just that so many walk around with large-gauge bullrings that there's a big stigma surround it. (Though, I would wear a tusk, haha.)

Speaking of small-diameter hoops, I put a hoop in my nose the other day and the diameter was waaaay too big. *fistshake* Hopefully I can buy a smaller one tomorrow.*

Just recently, my parents criticized me for liking body mods. They're like, "YOU WOULD WANT TO DO ALL THAT CRAZY STUFF TO YOUR BODY?!"
I said, "No, not all of it. I just find it interesting."
"How can you like it and not want to do it?!"
"Tell me then how you can read a book and not be a writer. How can you watch the Olympics and not want to be an Olympian?"
"..."

--YEAH PEOPLE. TRY TO ARGUE WITH ME ABOUT WHAT I DO AND DON'T LIKE AND WHAT I'D DO OR NOT DO AGAIN.*

YEAHHH. AMMONITE.

PLUS, whilst still VERY jealous of your awesome fakers, look what Phoebe bought me for Christmas!

(She also got me the awesome hat and jacket.)

Yeah, I think small diameter ones can be pretty too. Painful, apparently. I'm not really sure how they do it, either. Who knows. In sort of related news, look at this person's hair! (Related because she is piercing the other person's septum in the picture.)

DO WANT.

Haaaaaaaaa hahaha. You kick ASS!

Tattoos are nice...but only if you have a reason for doing it...not because you felt like doing one

why not? you like tattoos, get one. that's reason enough..

A tattoo with a story looks better than a ordinary tattoo, that's my opinion

"Looks" better? How? And also, how do you know if that tattoo has a story? For my 18th birthday I'm getting a tattoo, but the meaning behind it is incredibly personal so the likelihood I'll actually tell anyone about it is nil.

I prefer tattoos and body modifications which are cultural(aka Tribal - be them tattoos, piercing and etc.). I profoundly dislike modern body mod. (with the exception of the eye tattoo).

Neck Rings (http://knowyourmeme.com/i/000/078/560/original/The-Giraffe-Women-of-the-Neck-Rings-2.jpg?1287661005)
Lip and ear discs (http://img2.photographersdirect.com/img/12366/wm/pd347739.jpg)

Those stuff are mildly brutal, but that's where I find the good in it.

I can't quite say I know what you're saying, here. Do you mean that you only like body mods as part of cultural tradition instead of modern aesthetic?

Alsoooo, this is light-moddy: Chunks of my hair are turning grey because I'm too lazy/undecided/potentially poor to redye it blue. XD It's like this nasty slate color that keeps getting worse every time I wash it, haha.

Feel the pain, there. i used to have blue hair and it would turn either nasty grey or green :s Now i have purple hair and the purple washes out after a while, so you can see bleached parts...and now my roots are growing it D: looks bad!

At least purple turns pink after a while, though. I used to bleach my hair and dye it bright red and it turned this horrible shade of orange after a while.

Do you mean that you only like body mods as part of cultural tradition instead of modern aesthetic?Yes indeed, you are right. Well, that's a personal preference, though.

It's not like tribal body mod is prettier than normal body mods. both have their highs and lows.
for example, which looks better?

I want to get a tattoo when I'm 18 too, and I'm definitely dyeing my hair. I haven't decided what color yet though.

I don't even have my ears pierced (I've tried several times but my body rejects everything ;-; ). But I plan on getting a tattoo once I turn 18! I want to get something on my back. Since I'm a major geek it will probably be science related. (Or something to do with Doctor Who... >.>; )

I also eventually want to get a tattoo in remembrance of my PaPa. He used to mark all the books he read with a sheriff badge stamp in red ink. So that's what I was thinking of doing, since it's something that I associate with him.

That's so gorgeous. Very simple and elegant!

I know! I was searching for fish tats and was really excited when this one came up and the dude said anyone could use it. Now I just have to decide on the placement and see if the tattoo parlors around here will do it right.

Agh, that looks awesome.

I stretched my nostril piercing to 16ga. Owwwwww the first time; downsized back to 18ga, then tried a second time after taking a hot shower. (Makes me wonder how on EARTH people deadstretch beyond 4ga--holy.) That worked a million times better, but my nose got infected again after I went to Vegas and incubated air bacteria on an airplane for ever and ever. But that's finally gone, now, so I'm happy and all is well in Seefland. My boyfriend's mumma isn't too keen on the hole in my face, but I don't mind. To each their own, always.

Also got some new spirals from TribalStyle made of bloodwood, which are very nice. C:

Semi-related, mostly for myself, OTL:
http://www.yourpiercingshop.com/pics/gauge-chart.jpg

Unrelated: My posture is spiraling downdowndownward FAST. Anyone tried tightlacing before? If I'm not too poor from university fees at the end of this year, I might dump my PFD into a corset investment.

Awesome.

Personally, never liked tatoos on myself. They manage to look great on other people in my honest opinion.
