Umm.. so i decided to EXPAND this thread past just the 100 theme because I need some critiques and guidance on a few things...
as for the 100 theme...
Let's get started..
I plan on coloring the Magic girl one.. so yeah.. any crits now would be awesome...

I think the magic girl, her hand is a little big if your going to touch it up before you colour it. Otherwise I like it. And the dragons cool.
lol Love the first one. Btw, I suggest you bring the line in for the girl's neck. ...Unless you were going for a manly look? ; )

Muaha.. Baseball theme.. did a quick sketch from a reference.. i abhor baseball >.<

It looks pretty good overall. I think that there are a couple things that you can do to bring out the sense of space in the picture.
1) Try to have a foreground, midground, and background. You seem to have the mid- and background at the moment but no real foreground. Having a foreground brings the viewer into the picture more. It could just be some branches or leaves poking up around the edges of the picture to give the impression of someone peering through the brush. The foreground is always very dark in value compared to the midground which is again dark compared to a very desaturated and light background.
2) Really accentuate the difference in values between the fore-, mid-, and background. If something is behind something else make it lighter, even if what you are lightening is a part of an object in the same plane. This helps to give a better sense of space. For example, the three central trees should be lighter than the two outer trees as they are further away from the viewer.
3) Make the focus of your painting large. It's hard to keep a person's attention on a small focal point. You do a good job, however, of using the angles the trees are leaning to guide the viewer's eyes towards the monument/tombstone in the middle. A good test to see if your painting reads well is to zoom waay out until the picture is no bigger than a thumbnail sketch size and see if you can still understand what the painting is trying to communicate.
4) It's a good idea to include something as a reference for size. You could have a bird or some other wildlife that the viewer can use easily figure out how large the objects are in the picture. It can also serve as a way of indicating space if you include some that are large and close versus small and further away, as our ideas of space include the size of similar objects. Using this it can allow us to judge the actual size of the objects in the scene. Right now I'm asking myself, "Is this really a mammoth monument in an ancient forest with enormous trees? Or just a small tombstone with three normal trees around it?"
Hopefully, that helps a little. You're definitely on the the right track. If you want to explore what I've talked about more, you can watch Feng Zhu's tutorials on youtube or his site. hey Nisa.. thanks for the crits :).. i think I just updated it as you posted..
I plan on having some spooky characters in the background and some every day objects as well as a foot path of stones for scale... and as you can notice I've already started blotching out a spot for an object in the foreground.. some limbs and leaves and such are a great idea.. i might take that into serious consideration.. as for the focal point.. yeah it is a little weak, but some glowy-ness when I do the color should help with that aspect a bit.
The atmospheric perspective you were talking about in number 2, great advice.. i'm still trying to understand the effect in full..

I like it, I never saw this painterly style in you looking at your other line work! I love the texture in the bushes. I would be careful with the stone. Its perfect cylinder shape looks unnatural. Unless ofcourse you meant for a perfect shape.

Your backgrounds. The are AMAZING. Hands-down. Holy crap, I need to practice so badly to get to this level!
And I like the running figure. It's really good, and I think you should do something with it! :D Are you using Pixelovely.com's gesture drawing tool (http://www.pixelovely.com/gesture/figuredrawing.php) for these? I started using it this week and really liked it.
Also, random: I really like your avatar. I got dreads about two and a half months ago, and I hope to have them rock out like that one day, haha. But my hair is toooooo short for that right now. XD

CEEEEFY!!! Hey girly :D... and well.. I've used that gesture tool.. but i really only use it for sketching traditional in my sketch pad to warm up.. most of those gestures are freehand and from imagination.. and thnx about the backgrounds :3... it just clicked one day.. and I should do more >.<...

Been working on just blocking out the main composition as quickly as possible before I start rendering... so critique on the composition and lighting would be ideal.

Very nice man, you're getting really good with your backgrounds. I really like the second one. My only suggestion would be to make the foreground darker and less saturated. There's still a lot of saturation in your color scheme which is fine if you want to emulate a rainy or otherwise humid day, but not so much for a sunny day.

Well damn. This just reminds me I need to step up my game with environments, lol.
Real nice stuff, you can really feel the atmosphere in these latest pieces, and the colors are fitting real nice. Only thing I notice is an issue with scale. I can't tell if the rocks are really huge, the balloon is big and far, or small and close, or if the little bushes are big and the rocks are medium in size. It's a bit odd, and would work far better without the balloon. But great stuff, keep it up man.

I really like the sand in the foreground, how it takes you in and across the landscape
I almost agree with what Gunz says above me; except I think it's the weird rock formation that has got to go. Reason 1: they look really forced. Reason 2: I think that in all the landscapes you've posted the last days, all of them are very nice btw :), there tends to be more mass at one side of the canvas than the other. Getting rid of the rocks may balance it out

In the reference pic, your eyes too high and nose bridge too flat. the nose tip and the moth are pretty good!

Similar to what Ged said really, and I think the nose needs to be pointing ever so slightly more to the left? in the pic it's not completely vertical. Love the sketches :)

pretty effin accurate. The only thing i see wrong is the thickness of the eyebrows and largeness of the eyes. Other then that PERFECT SCORE!!!

this is super cool, I think you would have benefited a bit from a set color palette so everything felt more tied together, and the composition feels a bit too like its trying to be symmetrical but then its a bit off center and things are spaced from each other too far. it'd be cool if the composition was based more on the whales, like you lead all of the focus towards the whales or something. mostly because whales are cool

hey thanks guys, I went back and did some editing with the picture that I don't currently have with me right now considering I have to use the library. Straightened up the middle bits and also made the figure and the arch a bit bigger to minimize negative space. Also started putting a bit of color into the whales.. well.. because whales are indeed awesome! XD

A celtic spiral? Sweet.
I think the leaf gal looks a little odd though, maybe because the leaves don't match the contours of her face as well as the stone gal's do.

I can't really suggest anything, but I notice that on the top drawing that my eyes are drawn to the spirals at the top. Now i'm not sure if that is the focal point of the composition as I assume it would be the man at the center. But you could use the clouds and the motion of the whales to help draw the eye to the man (assuming that is what you are wanting to do). It's a really cool painting though, very interesting elements in it. The bottom drawing is also looking great, was it done from reference at all?

The bottom one is not done from reference, the top one, the whales were taken from reference a bit, but not copied. The main focal point would be the spiral, this was a commission at first, but the person lost contact with me so I decided to go ahead and finish it. This was originally for a CD cover.

Hey, nice start on the ship designs. Three of them seem to be variations on the same design theme.
Is your comic going to be painted? Or are you going to be doing linework, cel-shading, etc.? You may consider sketching out the line work for the ships as well. Taking the time to do so, especially in an isometric view will make it much easier to draw from any angle when you start working on the comic since you've already drawn out all the detail. It's easier to paint designs since you can infer details that aren't actually painted in unlike linework, so it may be a bit more work.
