Are the suit designs inspired by Digital Devil Saga? If you haven't heard of it, you should check out the concept art--you'd like it.

Have just read the page 4 and 5. They are good and I like the shading. But here's my thought if you don't mind:

@ CypressDahlia; Not exactly. It's more "Blame!" or "BE Alita", really, but I do have concept art from that series already, so it was a good shot... silly goose, I've played the SNES Shin Megami Tensei games, even. :3

@ LVUER; First off, thanks for the really honest critique! This is helpful. :3... Hum. Well, for one, I was trying to make her look forelorn. I haven't really gone into it yet, but she is a disposable combat cyborg and not actually human, so getting left behind isn't really a big surprise to her...

As for the lack of sound effects... Yeah. There isn't even any air inside the mecha, so noise wouldn't really make sence, but I kinda agree with you that it's not as dramatic... Will probally add some in the next batch if the new pages look lacking...

Just awesome I really like the characters for the cover, they all have great character design! I can't wait until it's finished.

I think you know Reg that my tastes are such that I think you should totally keep it as it is and leave out sound effects from the space scenes.

Less pew pew, more cold vacuum of the endless void.

How about a sound effect for nothing? I know that doesn't make nuch sense but... I dunno' it made sense in my head.

As for the sound thing... I actually know what Bacon is talking about. Like, the background whistling you get when it's really quiet... The question is weither I want to put the same sound in every single space pannel, really. x_x

Thanks for the crit guys, anyhow. I'll leave it as-is for now for the sake of progress, but if more people think really think it ruins the drama, I can always come back and put them in latter. :3

No, but seriously, I think you should. Keeps things ... more organized. As for sound, just do it like in the first panel while they're in outer-space. No need to do it every page.

Though I respect the amount of detail that goes into each page. The detail+ the penciled look + the heavy tones kind of gets confusing to look at sometimes...

Maybe if you worked in a system like...indoor backgrounds are dark toned, then the characters are light toned. And outdoor backgrounds are light toned but characters are dark toned. That would help with organizing the visuals.
