You should have made a proper clay render for the face, this skylight raytracing doesn't allow you to notice improper smoothing etc.

Though it looks very nice, I do wonder what the face is going to look like the moment you turn on turbosmooth :/

Workflow you should look into for High -> Low Poly.
- Create Low Poly in Max and create a UV Unwrap
- Export to Sculpting Programme of Choice, pimp it up.
- Import the High Poly Sculpt back into max (no decimationMaster)
- Create Normal Map as described in this tutorial.

Good stuff, keep on trucking man :)

@Sho: Got to. You have no choice!
@Linz: He's every mans man. And yes, the barrier was influenced by that recent collab LOL. And well...yea I'm working on drawing more stuff.
@Sy: Lawl, thanks dude.
@Andrei: thnx. And that's pretty sweet man. Goodluck >_<
@Lucifer: Meh, I got lazy on it as you can tell. And thinks for the little insight into a workflow. I'd rather use Zbrush to make my maps since it's easier, and faster. But I'll try this out when I get the chance.
@Toast: Yea, I'm completely self taught when it comes to 3D lol. And thankyouu :]

I've come down with a sickness lately...known as art block. I can still draw, but no ideas are coming....er I guess creative block. Either way I'm fighting against it.
This was made in like 30mins today. I tried to keep this sharp and not all muddy and blurry...to no avail. I'll try harder when I have ideas.

'Tis a little interior I made falling to sleep a day ago during my art block. Before I went to sleep...like 40 minutes or so is all I took. Did this in Google Sketchup 7.

I plan on finding a good angle to dangle at. And do an overpaint...I'm not that good at it. But I'll see how it all turns out.

Thanks dude...

Here's something I started yesterday...just to practice anatomy. It's Ellis, you guys may know him as the best L4D character next to Louis and Nick.
Image
I would have put more time into this...but I just said nah, I need to puke ideas out my brain in order to overcome this art block.
Might finish it later, whateva mang.
(That gun is a Sig 552. My fave gun in CrossFire, AND it's in the PC version of L4D2, you have to use the console commands to get it)

Lol, same, man. He has some good stories.

Well, my internet is down again. But I've knocked my art block away, destroyed it. Stepped on it, burned it. And as Linz said. Sniped it.
I'm running off a 1 bar random wifi connection again...but I've been drawing like a maniac lately. And as I thought. Fighting through this art block has made me better...at least I think it did.

This took a few hours, dunno.
Image
I have more, but I won't spoil it all so soon.

@Lucifer: Thanks. I've been on a fking ROLL lately. And yea, lemme know when you have some stuff.
@Jai: I shall take you under my wing padawan.
@Renzo: Sick, I think I've improved too...which is why I've developed a love hate relationship with art blocks now. It's like, if you survive it, you level up...and in my case, I guess so. WOOT.

Well. As I am trying to maintain the title of "Baddest badass around town" I have this ART DUMP!
I havn't done one of these since I was a noob really...AND I've been drawing like a crazed maniac ever since I defeated art block.

These are a bunch of random concept art I've drawn over the past few days.
I'll even go into the extra little details lol.

This was the first one I did in my journey. So it's not very good...just a few heads and a guy in armor, took
maybe 1-2 hours...I don't remember. Done in SketchBook Pro 2010, edited in PS CS3.
Image

Done in an hour or two. I was going for a stylized pic. He was supposed to have a VERY large upper body,
and a small lower body. But I didn't maintain the style...so when I finished, it looked like this.
Image

This one is a highly Gears of War inspired creature concept. I used a few reference pics for bugs...mainly
beetles, and the rest was done from my head of course. About 3-4 hours or more.
DO NOT, I REPEAT. DO NOT LET IT BITE YOU.
Normal version
Image
Bloody version
Image

THIS, is an assassin. The design was mostly inspired by Assassins Creed, as in the clothes seem to be like an
old times Renaissance period-ish...Anyway. The dude wears a mask and wields an axe, how much more
badass could you get. Took around 4-5 hours or more. I colored the parts that are made of a hard material on
this one.
Image

Meat Grinder, need I say more? He doesn't talk much. The nailbat usually does it for him. A man's gotta express his emotion somehow!
Took about 4-5 hours on this...or more. I colored the parts that are made of soft material.
Colored version
Image
Lineart version
Image

So I was thinking "Hmm...what about drawing some kind of tribal dude?". That was the initial idea, it ended up being a woman, and in some kind of fantasy setting.
I used reference images from Google of African tribe clothes and stuff. I think it turned out pretty cool.
Took around 2-3 hours or more.
Colored version
Image
Grayscale version
Image

Silhouettes, or you can call em brain farts. What's not to love?
Personally I like the 2nd one on the top.
Image

Captain, we have a hull breach on deck 9!
Starships...yep I haven't done this since way...wayyy back. But I was like, what the silly goose let's try it out. And so I gathered a few reference pics, picked up my balls, and drew away. The inspiration in these designs are: The Matrix, Mass Effect, EVE Online and Dead Space.
Took maybe 2-3 hours for this shit.
Image

I just finished this one. And must I say "whew" because I actually pulled it off like I wanted to.
What's funny is I was narrating it the whole time to myself, like I was recording a tutorial lol. I haven't done robots in a while, so I figured I'd draw a super huge gun toting one to make up for it.
Anyway, this took maybe 4-5 hours or more.
Colored version
Image
Lineart version and opaque visor
Image

Enjoy.
Also my personal internet is still fried so I'm still using weeeeak wifi. Although I was able to make this update thank goodness!
Later, I'll have a bunch more some time in the future lol.

*ffffuuuuuu.jpg* Its like all you do is draw! And youre getting sick with your concepts. You're trying to make us all die of jealousy, aren't you...

With your interior room designs, how do you know where everything goes?? @_@ its so unfair. I just cant grasp that concept.

You are among the top MT artists IMO. And you used to kind of fade into the newbs. All of the sudden its like "Holy shit, where did this guy come from?!"
