I think she's going for a sort of deviant art kinda thing where there's a free membership and a premium membership. At least that's the impression I got.

It's pretty normal to see a lot of people with 0 posts. If you look at the old board, there are tons of people who just sign up and never post anything. I'm not really worried about them at all.

Will there be a point system for people who have memberships can give points to another user that doesn't kinda like dA?

The tutorials technically began in 1998 under a fan site and then under a site called Eclipse Unleashed but the MangaTutorials website/domain wasn't created until 2004. The date really depends where you want to officially call MT.com's birth. As for the incarnation, the upcoming new MT.com will be the fourth re-design and that includes the forum.

Membership will still be FREE. If you want more features*, that's where the subscription fee comes in. I doubt I will be able to handle all the load on just ad revenue alone. I've pretty much listed all the FREE features you get here.

* I haven't decided on what the extra features will be yet but it's probably the standard ad free site, more image upload, blogging ability, beta testing new site features, polls, quizzes, group-making ability, etc. NOTE: I may move some of the free features into the subscribe features and vice-versa. Nothing is concrete atm.

It'll pretty much follow the pricing at DA but I'll probably make it less like half the cost. We'll see. It's not something that's on the top of my list yet.

@ Jaidurn
I think that's possible. I'll have to look into it. There's also an activity points counter which I would love to utilize in some way (i.e. members can use them for this or that feature). Ideas would be welcome.

It may be cool now but I think it'll be even cooler when everything's said and done.

I'm really slobbering over the Video section where folks can submit video's either directly from their computer or linked to a youtube url. Not to mention the Marketplace will really help with everyone here doing Commissions. There's some other things that are really cool too. I think I'll stop with this next version... or at least not changing things again for several years.

Anyways, I could always do contests with free subscriptions as prizes or as I mentioned, use those activity points and trade them for subscription time, etc. I'll be posting pictures in the News page at the main site so you guys can see what the new version will look like over the next several days. I'll show some previews in a moment.

The size of the site is fixed 990 px wide. If you have bigger monitors though, you'll get to see extra parts of the background.
Templates are changeable and you can customize it (you can't change the bg image though).
