Hello! As you can see, I'm Titania; budding mangaka/actress-in-training!

I'm fourteen, and, as of this particular post, I've got T-minus nine days 'til I start--you guessed it--high school! 'Course, I've got no idea how that'll turn out, but it'll be quite a change...I've been going to a reeeally tiny Catholic school (we're talking 190-ish kids...in the WHOLE school) since I was three, and now I'm going to (gasp) the big huge gigantic public school (now we're talking 380-ish in the freshman class). But, then again, they've got an anime club! xD I'll also be taking Japanese, and I've heard rumors that, depending on what language you take, you can go on a field trip to that country. So we'll wait and see, nya!

Oh, and I also tend to break into anime catch phrases a lot--"nya" is a big one (Tokyo Mew Mew), but there's also "uguu" (Kanon 2006), "nyanyuuu" (Shugo Chara!, but really only episode one, hehe), "desu" (also Shugo Chara!, nya), and then "gyuu" and "puu," but I kinda made those up~

I'm into amateur voice acting, mainly on the Voice Acting Alliance, or VAA. I'm slowly gathering a larger and larger resume of roles, but I only discovered the VAA in January, so...yeah! ^.^ Stage acting is a biggie, too; I've been taking acting classes for a few years, been in my school drama club plays, etc. (My favorite role was probably a crazy old British janitor, with a sock puppet I had to talk to! xD) I hope to, one day, get my big break somehow. My goal? Oh, heck yes--Disney! (Take that, Miley!)

In terms of anime and manga, my favorite animes of ALL TIME are Romeo X Juliet and Angel Beats!, which are actually tied in my #1 Favorite spot. xD My favorite mangas are Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle and Vampire Knight, but I watch more anime than I read manga because manga is expensive and I don't live within walking distance of a bookstore. (Added to that, I watch anime online, but I refuse to read manga online. It just isn't the same. Did I mention that I'm STRONGLY opposed to eReaders? DEATH TO KINDLES! )

Of course, I love to draw manga. Why else would I be here? xD This site is actually where I got my start; when I first got into manga, I couldn't draw it for squat (I still have my first picture...*shudder*), but I found this site via Google around two years ago, and--boom!--my mangaka life was born. (My drawing still sucked, but it slowly improved, and, through the research of other artists' styles, tutorials on YouTube by several awesome people that I also owe my mangaka skills to, I think I can draw pretty dang well, a-thank ya very much!

Sadly, my printer doesn't like to scan (even though it's SUPPOSED to have a scan feature...or maybe the button is there for decoration? o_O), and, though I have Manga Studio (got it from Santa, nya!), I don't have a PC tablet and, therefore, can't use it. I plan on getting one, but my funds are slightly tied up right now...I got my own laptop, but I had to pay for it, and, though I love it sooo much, it was an expensive little bugger! But my mom ended up actually paying, so I'm gradually paying her back. Which leaves me very little. =T.T= But I will try, dang it!

Yeah, thanks for listening to me ramble~ Anyhoo, konnichi wa, and I'm psyched that this site has a forum! And, now...uh, ja mata. (Hello goodbye! xD)

Welcome.

Well some advises to survive here.
1.- read the rules
2.- be nice (but not soo nice that you need to use a annoying color for typing)
3.- try to keep the weeaboness the lowest as possible, yeah some people are geeks about anime and mangas, but we are already mature and most of us find silly the NYA! Konichiwa! or dress us as akatsukis.

Well i see you like principally shoujo, for that I can see you haven't try the real mangas (the good and epic ones).

Konnichi wa!
Wow a long message. XD Anyways, I'll try to cover all you have said.
Don't worry about high school, media and TV make it look bad but it's nothing, and you'll get through it. :D I love all of the anime's you've listed. All classics, and if you liked those check out CHOBITS!!!! XDDD (I'm a guy who is a sucker for romance animes LOL) I wanna learn Japanese too! I started taking courses online and plan to move there for a couple years in the future. Maybe I'll see you there!
NEXT: XD.... Keep drawing manga and before you know it, you'll be great. Just practice at least 2-4 times a week and in a year or less, you'll have improved by A LOT. Also, if you haven't checked out Mark Crilley on Youtube I strongly suggest you watch his videos, as he is thorough and is very easy to follow and understand. A few last words : Get a scanner! If you can't, show your drawings to your friends and family and get constructive feedback from them.
I hope you keep drawing and live out your dreams. One big piece of advice though: Don't worry. If you try your best and you have friends and family backing you up, you can do anything. I hope I get to talk to you again and bid you farewell (ja mata XD) and good luck!

That, or just use a digital camera and upload those pictures, Renzo does it too. Though the quality usually isn't great it does give you the opportunity to show off your artwork to us.

Anyways, welcome to MT, have a good time, draw a lot, make some e-friends and don't feed the trolls.

Welcome!

You said you liked Shoujo....and I see you've read a bit of CLAMP (er...watched the anime? One or the other.) Have you ever read Rg Veda? I don't think it's shoujo (might be listed as such, but it seemed more action to me,) but it's pretty good -the manga, not the anime.

I've got nothing against Kindles and all that, but I do foresee our civilization becoming the world in Fahrenheit 451...just saying. My book/manga's not gonna run out of batteries when the apocalypse comes...

*but then, I might have better things to do if the world was ending...or not?

Ooooo, a shoujo fan huh? Well, you've got a lot of catching up to do then! Some popular ones: honey and clover, beauty pop, fruits basket, kare kano, nana, crimson hero, vampire knight etc etc. I could keep going but I'll stop there. C: Welcome to the forum!

I've never read it, I just remember all of my silly goose friends obsessing over it instead of obsessing over FMA, which they should have been doing like me, in 5th grade and I felt left out so I developed some natural resentment for it. I don't really feel like picking it up, though, because with a name like Fruits Basket, I mean come on. Really.
