The hair on this one is not so great. Was trying to make an old lady, and forgot she needed old lady hair, too.

This is the first thing I drew when I got my new tablet. You know you love it.


Tell me what you think, guys. Be brutal.

1. A very obvious thing in your drawings are your lines, they are too dirty. Try practising making long smooth lines at one by using your entire arm instead of small movements from your wrist.
2. Another thing is the hair, it does not stick to the skull as you have portrayed it, in order to create a more realistic effect there should be some distance between the hairline and the skull line (which is often your reference line).
3. Try studying some anatomy and flesh out the main muscles when you're designing your characters, it'll make the entire body less awkward to look at.

The colouring is nice though, but then again, that's not really my area of expertise.
Keep on practising and show us what you've got in store for us.

Thanks. I went about two years without drawing anything other than the occasional doodle on the sides of whatever paper, so I'm way the silly goose out of practice. Not that I was that good before, but I managed to at least make cleaner lines and knew what people's limbs looked like.

Um all your issues seem to revolve around anatomy so if you work on that I think most everything will fall into place. You are already good at making clothes look like its on a person as opposed to painted onto them, so that is good. You also need to develop line confidence because your lines are shaky even on the penciled pictures.

Other than that my advice is to follow your heart.

Thanks, jubeh. I do have a lot of trouble with lines, partly because my hands shake and partly cause I'm hella messy anyway. As for anatomy... It's difficult for me and I don't know why. I've found a couple books that I jacked from some dude (he'd been evicted, wasn't answering calls, landlady opened his apartment for people to take crap after 30 days were up) and I've been practicing, but it's so damn hard it's hilarious.

These are mostly terrifying. XD One thing, you're really good at drawing, but most of your coloured stuff lacks contrast; the shadows are too light and the highlights are too dull. This makes your whole picture look duller (and is something I'm guilty of myself.)
