Why do you draw on lined paper?

Cause I mostly draw at school, and I only have notebooks with me for drawing when at school so yah. Even if I draw at home I still draw on lined paper tho.

You should try scanning your drawings, in many cases you should be able to filter out the blue lines. If you'd do that, you wouldn't need to switch to other paper. (Though I'd highly recommend just using a heavier drawing paper which is also a lot more eraser-resistant).

Who ... Who would want to take the time to edit out lines? Start drawing at home too. You'll improve much faster

Ever heard of non-photo blue? It's the blue that scanners have trouble picking up, editing some scan settings should result in getting rid of those lines if they don't get filtered out automatically.

As for who takes the time? I do, if I have a good drawing on lined paper, sure as silly goose I'm going to filter it out.

I drew. Yes. On lined paper. Yes. Took a photo of it rather than scanning. Yes. I was too lazy to get drawing paper.

I kinda dislike this :\ Probably because his pose is a bit weird. Ohwell >_> It killed some of my time so it served its purpose.

@Neowired : Well, its summer break, so I'll have to right now xD

@Lucifer : Yes, I know, but I am way too lazy :\

@MangaArtist407 : Well, not very much anymore, like twice a month or so.

Hm . . . this stuff isn't bad at all. I like it.

On that last one, maybe you could make his left foot bent more at the toes so it looks like they're supporting his weight. With that kinda pose, it'd be easy to critique on balance, but you got that right. Nice job.

I really like the way the hair turned out. You can do spiky hair so much better than me.

@ Matt : Yeah, had problems with his balance when drawing it. Decided to leave it that way because I didnt feel like fixing it Dx Thanks for the comment.

So Gunz, here ya go, now lemme get back to reading bakuman D:<

Image
Wasnt really thinking when drawing this, just drew the head and added a body, no guidelines or something >_< Probably alot of flaws and such but yeah, guess it's at least good that I drew SOMETHING after a long while of not drawing anything serious.

C&C much appreciated.

The anatomy in general doesn't look to bad, it's the proportions that looks a bit off and even then only slightly. The face looks good, but the folds need some work. Feet, there are none >:(

Also: bakuman ftw

Actually, it's best NOT to go back and fix a drawing after getting a critique. It makes you dwell on that one picture and not really improve. So once you get one done, move on to another. Don't do what I used to and sit there ogling one that turned out good for twenty minutes.

With the first picture on this page, try to get a bit more distinction between where the forearm ends and the wrist begins. No offense, it just looks a little like Harry's arm in the second HP movie :0
