hi people,
ive just started drawing manga, i feel confident drawing characters, but the point where i struggle is with drawing their hands. They often look out of perspective with the rest of the body, and dont look the right shape :S

does anyone have any good tips or techniques used when drawing hands?

Break hands up into simple shapes. LOOK at the hand. What kind of shapes make it up?
I always start with a basic skeleton and build up. Don't look at anime hands, but instead at real hands. You will notice that fingers are segmented - much easier to draw! Begin by drawing some very large hands on some scrap paper. Sometimes it's easier to figure things out when you draw at a larger scale.
Also, ALWAYS draw your hands. Don't hide them in pockets of behind your figure's back.
