  • Age 7: Started drawing secret agents and spies. Tanks to Kim Possible, my grip on reality was ruined.
  • Age 8: Started watching anime, mainly Crest of the Stars and a liiittle bit of Gundam. Then I was a manga-style monster. D: I also drew a ton on Neopets, rofl.
  • Age 9: Drew dogs and dragons. And anthros. And that's kinda it. I just wanted to "humanize" my Neopets. AUGH, SO NERDY. And I drew all the Spyro characters like 23.4892394 billion times.
  • Age 10: Quite Neopets. Took art seriously because I wanted to be better than my friends.
  • Age 11: Got a tablet. Stopped drawing manga style because my mom didn't like it.
  • Age 12: Tried more realism stuff.
  • Age 15: Now. Did nothing. XD

Saaay what? Your mom didn't like it so made you quit, or you decided to? My dad doesn't like the anime stuff either.

She kinda forced me to. She didn't like "those Japanese-looking cartoons" and thought they were demonic. Now I don't care and do whatever I want. They have a Bible anime. How can that be evil? That's like saying TV is evil. It's a form of expression. The content can be bad, depending on the creator's wills, but the medium itself has no inherent righteousness.

I have never heard that... my mom said that they are violent and then I said "but tom and jerry are violent to, and you don't have problem with them".

Age 3-4: Started drawing animals and stuff. They were not very good, trust me.
Age 5: I became "Inspired" by my mothers drawings (she was a fairly good artist back in the day) and so I started drawing people. Again these were not very good although I bragged about them a LOT.
Age 6: For some reason... I got into drawing Dinosaurs (what proper boy didn't like dinosaurs?) and so that was pretty much all I drew for a long, long time
Age 7-10: Went back to drawing people. Around this time frame is when I discovered Animu and pokemon (Yeah I started drawing anime because of pokemon. Big surprise, you guys.)
Age 11 - 12: The animu stage. Like hormones that rush through a school girl's brain, causing her to go mad, I, in a similar fashion, went on some major animu crazed drawing rampage. You should have seen how good I was (Ok they were pretty down right awful)
I also started making a lot of comics around this age.
Age 13: Read Zatch Bell and Dbz for the first time and was introduced to "manga". This was also the time I found this website. At that point I started getting really motivated into improving my art so I could be really good and move to japan and publish a shonen manga and be famous and all that good stuff. (silly goose alert)
Age 14: I started getting sick of anime... I woke up one day and said "Man this art style is way over used silly goose this"
I began reading vast amounts of web comics and becoming interested in art other than manga. I found a bunch of artists I liked, fused their styles together and sort of made it my own (plagiarism?) Also I was introduced to the concept of digital art at this stage. I think that year (2009) I improved more than I ever had previous years.
Age 15: Uh oh I wonder what is going to happen this year. So far I'm trying to draw other things than people all the time. Just trying to throw in some variety. Also so far I've really been trying to refine my style more... it doesn't exactly look like a mix of other peoples art now (thankfully)

my mums hates the anime because she doesn't agree with the japanese culture. Mostly has to do with womens rights and what not.. the japanese do demoralize women in their culture, I agree.. but like Seefy said, it's up to the writers and artists, not the actual art it's self...

Man, what's with mothers not liking anime?
Mine dislikes it (well, the generic stuff, not, like, Ghibli) because she thinks it makes the men look like women (to be fair, she was talking about FFVIII when she said this) and the women look like children. I couldn't really argue with that. Probably one of the reasons I stopped considering my own stuff to be manga.

My mom (as strange as it may seem) never had a problem with me drawing anime. She said when she was young and living in italy that that some people drew anime ( I do not know if this is entirely accurate) there. She always thought it was a cool art style.
So maybe I got lucky Idk

I let it clean... as you can see I don't censure or keep any secret, everything is clean.

My mom doesn't get it, but she understands that I like it. So leaves it alone.
