Looks very bad, but I tried planning out the body structure before I drew it. At least.

I need some motivation to practice. The last time I did fanart was . . . was . . .

. . .

I never drew fanart before. But I'm gonna try to do some Fire Emblem (Radiant Dawn) pictures and see how it turns out.

Buy a new sketch book and dedicate it to drawing nothing but hands in it.

I seriously considered that about a week ago, and I think I'll try it. But are they really that bad?

It isn't a matter of how bad they are, but just a matter of how bad you want to improve on drawing them.

No, they don't and you don't have to kill yourself over hands. Just draw like 3 or 4 every day in different poses or holding different objects and at different angles. Just experiment with them, have fun and you're improvement will surprize you. The same can be said for anything that you draw ever.

I know I can do a lot better, but I think I'll do a cross between what you and Mage suggested. Dunno what that is yet, but I'll find it.

This isn't a bad start, but I think you need to make the palms bigger. This is also a really good attempt at a dynamic pose, too.

Hope "attempt" isn't the keyword.

The hand was supposed to be at an angle, therefore the short palm. But the fingers didn't work with it, so technically, I messed up again. I hate redrawing though, so I'll just do a whole new picture later today.

Drawn Sunday.

I'm way better at faces than bodies. So . . . yeah. That means I probably should draw faces less and bodies more. It's more fun to draw faces though.

hhmmm... you know there really not that bad. i mean ya there places that need work. and that will get better over time, anatomy is a monster. that is, i mean, the hardest thing to get down. but i notice a lot of clean lines and the clothes are what really got me. they are simple and need a little more work but you got the fold and the shape down pretty good.

im interested to see how you do in the future

I think the mouth is a little high but the rest of the face is fine.
IMO the hair could use some work, like different sized clumps and more flowing rather than just sticking out at the back. but I'm just not really a fan of that style of hair I guess.

I always have trouble with hair. I'll work on it then.

The mouth . . . yeah, I'll work on that too.

And here's a little problem: I HATE using references, but if I keep going the way I am, I'll never get any better and I'll be stuck with about two years of noticeable experience for the rest of my life. What can I do?

Yup, it's off. I'm horrible at symmetry and all.

-By the way, your avatar--Misaka and her sister, by any chance? From A Certain Scientific Railgun? (Good anime, unfairly long title)
