We could put it as a hidden track at the end

Hidden tracks stuck 5 minutes after the end of a song are lame, but if you mean just put it there w/out listing it, sure.

So we finally got around to learning/practicing The Reanimator again, and we recorded a demo today with vocals. Also, harmonica played poorly by me.

Nyarlathotep - The Re-Animator

Little loud by default, might want to turn that down.

Which one of you is singing.

Edit; The voice seems kind of drowned in the mix.

I was doing the singing. And yeah, the voice in the second part is drowned out... the volume is pretty uneven for that part, though, so making it louder would make it really loud on some parts... it'll need some enveloping, probably.

The song is rad. That was my only issue with it. Did you guys compress the vocals.

Yeah run a compressor because the volume seems to jump up and down on them.

It should just be hidden on the disk and only playable when you manually dig through the cd on the computer.

Well, you're going to need some goat's blood...actually, it's possible to make music CDs that have extra content when viewed on a computer - this Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind CD I have has some of that. Not sure how to do that, though.

Compressed the vocals and and it sounds a bit more even - tried it on the harmonica too actually:
Nyarlathotep-Reanimator V2
Not totally sure on how to fiddle w/ compressors to make it not suck, but whatevers. Thanks for the tip.

Well, you need to find the cause of the buzzing. Probably, one of the frets above it (maybe 5 or 6) is too high, so when you press down at the 4th fret the string gets pushed into the 5th or 6th as well. If you look at the string from the side you might be able to tell which fret it is; then you'll have to sand the offending fret down.

I haven't done this ever, though. If I had a problem I would prooobably take it to a tech (unless it was on one of my cheaper guitars, in which case it might be a learning experience). The worst case if you tried to fix it yourself would be that you'd have to get the whole fret replaced, which isn't the end of the world... it'd cost more than just getting the buzzing fixed, though.

Your other option is to only play in keys like E minor, which don't use that fret ;)
