In bya's defense I don't think anybody reads gintama. Its pretty off the wall and not as easy to follow as the bleaches and narutoes of that generation.

Thanks Jubeh.

I think it is a awesome manga, but not so many people actually read or watch it, they maybe heard of
i started with watching the anime, since i like anime over manga.. but i thought it was they easiest one to follow since there isn't that big of a storyline... >> xD, but the humour is awesome... ( i do hate otsuu-chan though ) ,, but it is cool when you get the hang of it ... but thn again people do have different tastes :/

Someone recommened me Uzumaki once and i found it weird, but i did read it, if you like some kind a weirda story ... read it.. xD

For regular comics, though I'm sure it's out of print and hard to find/get, I suggest The Pirates of Dark Water. This comic just AWESOME, and they would be the only pirates who could ever contend against a ninja.

For manga, that's harder. For older readers, I'd suggest Crying Freeman, cause it's pretty kick ass. For shoujo/gothic I'd suggest God Child (and the whole Cain Saga) and for action I'd say the whole Saiyuki series. I really liked the manga over the anime, which did have too much filler and switched voice actors/companies beginning with Reload, which threw things off. I also don't like how they gave Hazel a crappy accent...which wasn't even the right kind of accent. Grrr.....

Wait. What? There was a comic based on the series? Was it just side-story stuff, or did it actually end that damn show? Fucking blueballing my childhood.

I remember that from my childhood. Nice serie, was one of the few series that were not-happy when I was a kid (most series in my days were like that bears with heart in the stomachs).

Uzamaki? Anyway, I read Gintama.

Also, anything on this site. Everything there is by ametures, and you need to make an account to read anything past Chapter 2, but it's totally worth it. Best thing is, these people are international. Mexico, the Phillipines, America, Spain, Japan. It's awesome.

It actually followed the series. As I recall, I don't think the cartoon ended. Which silly goose me of, cause I LOVED IT. I had the Ren action figure, too (don't know why I didn't get the others.)

I have a couple of the first series of comics: there were six in the first, and then they extended it with a special "3 issue" special with some sorcerous chick in addition to the fat guy. If there are others beyond that, I don't know. I've been meaning to look it up. I really want to get the rest, but I've only got volumes 2, 3, 5, 7, and 8. Crazy, I must have lost volume 1. and I don't know if I ever had 4. Found 5 at a comic shop.

Yeah, it was one of the more involved cartoons of the 90s. I loved it :)

Yeah I believe pirates of the dark water was left unfinished, and then fans wrote an ending for it or something like that? Iduno I remember digging stuff up on it like 10 years ago.

Dang, I'm gonna have to look into it. I hate it when things get left unfinished. Well, if it's something good that's unfinished, like the Gormenghast books (though, I guess it's not Peake's fault he...died...)

The cartoon was unfinished. That's why I asked if the comics continued where it left off and wrapped things up.

Mysterious Girlfriend X:
A bizzare high-school romance story, the main character is a guy who is addicted to his girlfriend's saliva, on top of that they can experiance the emotions and bodily sensation when tasting each others saliva. throw in some, for lack of a better description, offbeat PG rated kinkiness (for example: eating raw bacon while wearing cat-ears) and it's a fun and lighthearted little series.

Liar Game:
An innocent and naive woman is unwillingly drafted into a high stakes (the first round is for aprx. 2 million dollars) tournament of lying and psychological combat. managing to enlist the aid of a genius former con-man she keeps in the game in the hopes of reaching the top and taking down the organization behind it. A lot of multi-layered mind games and dramatic cons ensue as the two ( along with a third companion met during the games) battle wit with increasingly more brilliantly deceptive foes.

A Girls:
A romance/mystery. Kazao grew up in an orphanage on a secluded island all his life until one day he has a nightmare of dying in a motorcycle accident and shortly after his parents are found and he is sent to live with them, leaving his girlfriend behind. does a really good job of leaving you guessing about what's happening, or more aptly how and why as it all but tells you what's happening just over 2/3 of the way through the series (series is only 15 chapters long)

Onani Master Kurosawa:
Series almost has to be read to be believed. A Doujinshi about a somewhat arrogant, antisocial, middle school boy with the habit of sneaking into a largely unused girls bathroom everyday after school and silly goose it. Despite this description it isn't a silly goose, but instead an intense drama following the titular character in his last year of middle school. The early chapters can comically and somewhat accurately be thought of as "Death Note but with fapping" but starts to pick up a mild love story before becoming a story of redemption and coming of age.

Then perhaps you could add "unpopular manga that you recommend to read"?

If you like yuri otaku-cultured light-comedy manga, I recommend "Choir!"
It's kinda mix between Luck Star and Doujin Work, plus some yuri.

For silly goose-loli plus action/fighting manga, I recommend "Needless"
The action/fighting scene is like those in Shaman King, Naruto, One Piece. But what make it so different is the ridiculously huge amount of fan-service. And most of the girl here is loli (delicious flat-chested little girl). Oh, and don't forget the gore too. There is also a lot of that in this manga.
Spoiler! :
And in the latest volume (starting several tens of last chapter), the protagonist starts to cross-dressing non-stop.

I just go on 4chan when I want go-oh wait. 4chan is now full of pussies. Grr.
Also everyone should read Batman: The Dark Knight Returns and The Long Halloween. Two of my favourite collections.
