What Genre in manga/anime/comic you love? and which one you hate? What drawing style presented in manga/anime/comic you love or dislike?

I'm going to start:

I hate Moe and Animeish style. I found them awful, to generic and simple. Examples of this that I dislike: K-on.

The genre I dislike is Shoujo. Basically because most Shoujos are just the same and I haven't seen one with a edgy proposal or idea (Hey, why don't we do a story abotu a girl who fell in love of a vampire? and then she is in a love triangle with a werewolf?... [yeah a girl who have to choose between necrophile and zoophile).

What I love any kind of genre or style who provoke me. Like, reading something with great story, edgy ideas, great dialogues, is just all I need. And of course an style that is according to the context.

I like a lot of CLAMP--but their mangas tend to cross genres. I like Rg Veda a lot cause it's fantasy with a hint of yaoi (nothing too explicit, that) and it's more mature than a lot of shounin ai. I think my personal favorite genres are action and fantasy, which tend to fall under shounen (but I'm not a fan of stuff like Dragon Ball Z. Dragon Ball was fine, Z I didn't like.)

I like Bishounen and bishoujo, and uh...I guess gothic.

Examples of styles and genres I personally like:

Saiyuki
Rg Veda
Full Metal Alchemist
God Child
Takeru: Opera Susanoh/Sword of the Devil (really good, though not long)

I agree that Shoujo tends to get caught and packaged into the same story over and over. I'm picky about the Shoujo I read for that reason. A good example of a shoujo I really didn't like, because it never had a real resolution and was just so...blah is that Mugen Spiral. I was so mad at the end, I wished I hadn't spent my money on it, even though it was just two volumes.

I don't know the "official" labels for anime/manga styles, so I can't name specifics, but I don't like any art style that seems too realistic. I like the more surreal, simplified styles of manga and anime, because it's usually quicker to draw, easier on the eye and better suited for a casual artist/viewer like myself.

I don't like manga or anime with super tall figures. Not sure why though. Just doesn't appeal to me, I guess.

I like manga with really animated characters, and a heavy dose of humor, whatever kind of humor.

Have you ever read or watched Foolie Coolie? It's not really all that realistic, but it's a great trip. The manga especially is insane--insanely awesome.

Steampunk is so frickin' gimmicky.

I dislike bishoujo because I hate the style, and it's distracting. D: *killed* I don't like the long, flowy hair that defies gravity, the SPARKLE!eyes, the bubble backgrounds, and the strange physical representation of "men"--those aren't men at all.

I don't really like anything too symbolic since it's too hard to digest (I watch anime to have fun, not to add my already piled up stress).

I don't like really-long-leg style.

I don't like non-sense comedy like Excel Saga.

What I really love is, like you all perhaps already know (look at my sig) is MOE >_< (that means K-On, Magister Negi Magi, and other cute stuff). That means I don't really like big breast (hint: Bleach).

FLCL is the best anime until now. There is no point of discussion in this.

The manga in other part is not soo great.

I loved watching the anime--it was epic. So crazy! I dunno, it was so different from the other anime's I'd seen. :P I kinda wish I had the series now, just thinking about it.

No.

It's really depressing. I barely watch/read anime/manga AT ALL anymore! My only experience is with the super mainstream stuff like pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh when I was younger. I read a couple mangas, just the first few chapters. I need less hobbies.

Only series I've watched end-to-end is The Last Airbender, and it is exactly the kind of anime I enjoy, to the detail. Perfect blend of fantasy atmosphere, epic battles, plenty of humor, a beautiful semi-real art style, some philosophy intertwined but not invasive, and a nice bit of humor.

I have watched the serie like 8548677856478568546478 times and I still found it epic (I also have watched in japanese, spanish and english and by the moment, this is the first time were I found the english version better).

And for me is not just crazy, is also a smart serie, with a meaning behind, something that most anime series have a lack. When you put a meaning behind something (some times is not intentional) it make that like something memorable (cowboy bebop, evangelion, flcl, chihiro, etc). And this is something that today anime and mangas are havign a lack (generic moe anime).

Avatar The Last Airbender is not anime. It has a kind of anime style, but the animation and the production wasn't made as anime.

I hate anything generic and haremish and anything that takes itself too seriously

I love mostly shonen(One Piece, Shaman King, HunterXHunter, etc)
