Have you ever played a game, watched an anime/show/movie, read a comic/book, and loved it, only for it to do something extremely stupid and silly goose it all up at some point?

As an example, in an anime I watched recently nearly all the characters were either dead or emotionally destroyed by the end of the series, but the deaths had a lot of impact and formed the basis of what it was all about. Then in the last episode the show pulled a blatant cop-out and brought all the characters back to life without even explaining it, completely erasing the impact of what had happened to that point and ruining what would have been a great story.

So, have you ever been emotionally slapped in the face by a story? Use spoilers.

It doesn't sound like much but if you've ever played the game, you'll understand.

If you mean Naruto, you don't get it. The people will have to fight those who thy loved while they were alive and keep their conscience. Truly, this will be spectacular.

If this doesn't happen, I will admit, it ill blow.

When I watched the wrong Evangelion ending--the one that was supposed to prevent you from feeling down, I was ticked. Then I found out there was an alternate ending. I was okay after that. But then, the whole thing with when to what the movies and all, that was so confusing, til it was explained to me.

Batman Hush had one of the worst, most nonsensical endings of anything I have ever read. It tries to be this mystery story but you can't possibly solve it because he introduces things that had no basis in the story to begin with.
Spoiler! :
Aka clayface clones. Wait clayface wasn't even in the story. Way to go jeph loeb.

No, I'm not talking about Naruto, I said that the cop-out happened in the last episode >_>

The only story I've ever been really disappointed with wasn't actually a manga. It was Tenderness, by . . . I forgot the author.

Spoiler! :
The whole story was spent attaching you to the main character, Lori. She became friends with a serial killer who almost killed her, and then she died in the end by throwing away her life jacket while riding a rowboat in a river. The serial killer saved her, but she started wiggling around, bumped her head on the boat, and drowned. Then the serial killer went to prison. Most frustrating read ever, but when I think about it, it kinda had to happen. Still, killing a first-person main character with a method like that . . .

Battlestar Galactica. The final season and a bit of the third.

But gods frakking dammit if the ride wasn't worth it. Those first two seasons are still the best SF ever put to television.

Psy Comm, and I'm only on Chapter 2. They kill off one of the main characters right off the bat. I mean, you don't even get to know these characters (or even just their names, really) and it already takes one of them out. I mean, couldn't they have built up more of an emotional attachment of the reader for the character? Sheesh.

Demonbane. It's an anime adaptation from a Visual Novel of the same title. The graphics is quite nice (2D anime with 3D CGI robot battle).

The problem is that ...
Spoiler! :
Nearing the end, suddenly your biggest rival and the supposedly big final boss, died... betrayed by his own subordinates. After that, in the final battle, without any warning, that person suddenly magically revived/reborn and claimed that it (he's being killed) was all already planned all along.

Not only that, the plot often get crazy all of the sudden, giving you plot twist just for the sake of plot twist (especially nearing the end). The plot even goes as far as to the very existence of our universe and dimension, and battle from the beginning of time, and all kind of crazy Gods stuff. And all of that revealed only in the several last episodes. Like I said, plot twist just for the sake of plot twist...

I don't really think it would have been as good if that didn't happen.
