I gotta agree with ego, it seems like you're trying to duck and dodge with any excuse to cover up that torso problem. They ARE elongated. The people who are spotting out that they are long are the people trying to help you improve. Take their words and actually UTILIZE them, all of this helps in the long run, even Aether trying to assassinate you

Torso argument aside, because everyone already agrees and I don't want to beat it to death, I think your highlights could use some warmer tones. The background environment and lighting are good, but I think the nice folds that you shaded on the shirts could be even more complimented by a differing hue from the sky blue/navy you've used already.

Yeah. I was originally going to have some light bounce off some rusty metal and warm the shadows, but somewhere along the line I forgot. ^_^;

Yeah, that happens. I try to do that all the time, but I forget to do it most of the time. D: The good part is, though, that at least you had the intention to do it and made a mental note.

You know, I think this may be the biggest bunch of messages I've ever had between two posts with content.
Anyway.
Something I'm working on will feature marble and opals, so I'm trying to get stuff to look like it's supposed to.
Any thoughts?

layers.. many layers, you should abuse patterns and color mixed together. I would get a rock pattern and use the color replacement tool to make it grey. Overlay it onto what's supposed be whatever, make sure the colors and shading are right first. Then go back and use a light control render to give a little dazzle..

...Man, you overestimate my vocabulary. :p
Maybe I should be flattered.
Anyway, could you maybe expand that a bit, 'cuz I'm not sure what problems you're adressing or what half the technical terms mean.

So, tried making a cliff.

Any glaring errors, aside from making the veins far too big?

Also also, a pair of eyes.

Not entirely sure about the eyelashes, but I like the rest.

Also also also, Cirno showing off her beamspam. Made in GB.

I don't really understand the perspective of the cliff. The bits of the green on the cliff looks like their are sticking out, but if you look at the whole perspective, those areas are going into the cliff.
I'm not sure how to fix this. If they are meant to be ledges, they should just be strips of green like the top but if they are supposed to be going into the cliff, I suppose darker shading would help.
