I think the afro guy has a really big neck.

Also, that random smile is creepy cool

@Ron: Thanks man :D
@Renzo: Thanks and err... Dunno, I can't really remember why I changed it, probably because I though it would look better (Oi, that's what you when you let mister no-experience-in-drawing-women draw a woman... Dangit I need more practice (as ZiZi pointed out on AIM)) :P
@Seefy: Glad I made your day with it
@BB: I am aware of the neck, kinda wanted him to look like a solid hump of muscle. As for the smile, I guess I hit the mark, it was supposed to be a smile fit for a menacing vampire :P, but I feel it didn't work out the way I wanted it to. But thanks for the compliment :D

EDIT: Oh and I mention this because Seefy at one point showed interest in my fanfic: Chapter 10 is up, start reading here.
I can't vouch for the quality, but I think ZiZi likes it. That or she doesn't want to hurt my feelings :P

And I am aware of the Gary Sue that Martinus is, deal with it, I'm not going to change it.

hah, you and me seem to think alike (at least I think so). Me being a dude makes it relatively easy for me to draw dudes, dudettes on the other hand...

Probably because I don't draw super girly girls or super manly men, it seems like I can draw both pretty equally, I think.

And yay. I'll try to read the story soon.

Not great... but hey it's my first environmental speedpaint.

Kudos to you if you can find the easter egg.

On second thought, I probably should have blurred the transition from the foreground to background better..

I see evil little faces all over the place. O_O

On to the pic itself.
It looks pretty good for your first one, and speed too.
Yes as you've said the background - foreground could have been blended better. Also is this on a hill? because the buildings in the bg seem to be descending. I like that dust effect coming off the building and the dudes that are casting the shadows.
This could use a bit of texture also to give a grungy sort of look, but that might just be my taste...I like things destroyed or worn lol.
Last thing is the use of a harder brush just to bring up those sharp details...but this is coming from a novice, wait until Cype gets here lol.

Wow, you're so good with light/shade etc. Why don't you do this mooore?

One thing though... his eyes appear to be... upside down? If you look at eyes, the red bit (it has a real name- I don't care) tilts down, and the general shape of the eyes is usually straighter along the bottom and more curved along the top. Plus his neck is a tad thick, but it's almost a style thing (almost- it's slightly too thick to be believable, but very, very close nonetheless.)

But yeah, that aside this's really bloody good. You git :D

I like the form of the face. It's really unusual, but quite realistic. I am in total envy of those lips. *^* It seems like you're focusing a lot on the green end of the spectrum for shadows, which is making him look dead. With the yellowy lighting scheme you've got going on currently, a purple-blue tone would be good for shadows. I'd also add some red tones on certain places, such as his cheeks.

Navate on deviantart has a very comprehensive skin tutorial on how to balance shadows, highlights, and hues in a variety of skin tones. It’s worth a peek. :)
