Boy you're one to get your work up fast! but I guess you've been here before anyway..
Loved your work, especially the first sketch, it was so clean and perfect, showing you know what your doing! The second one was pretty good as well, and as for the sig, it left me saying silly goose?!
Great work, keep it up!

I've never actually posted anything up on the forums before. Even if I did I probably would never find them (my old account was deactivated).

Thanks for the reply. The two sketches we're really only to work up on my skills. I haven't drawn anything all summer vacation so I needed some practice. I'm also glad that people like the first sketch better.Infact, I like the first sketch better. I find that it suits my style a lot more, plus it looks cleaner.

^ He means mine.

Anyway, your stuff is really nice to look at. It's clean and accurate and looks like you know exactly what you're doing. On the second one though, her nose is too far to our right, I think. Maybe a little too high, too. Put your finger to your upper lip and see how far apart the bottom of your nose is from your mouth. Making the mouth too far from the chin is possible too, so watch out for that. Ususally, in moe, you have to have the face set up just right if you want to have a high nose and still have the face long enough not to be something you'd see in a gag manga. My advice would be to lower the nose anyway and see how it turns out. Look at Obitual Crow for a good example. Sutari's got it down really well too, so check out his thread if you ever need help with that.

The only other thing I noticed is that her shoulders are too thin. I know there are animes like Clannad that make that look good, but they were still a little wider. Again, Obitual Crow has some good examples of how to do it right. There are more than just him, but he's the only one I know well enough to link to.

Yeah, I say all that, but your stuff's still really good. That first pic made me wonder, "Just how good IS this guy?" You can use a pencil a lot more cleanly than a lot of other forum members, myself included. Keep it up--this is one thread I'll be checking daily.

Looks good. On the second one, the head seems a bit too big for the rest of the body. Or maybe you were going for that?

First off to the post above mine. Yes I was going for that.

Another sketch I made. But wait this is different! It's a guy! I kinda rushed this one, since its main purpose was to be put in some kind of reference thing I'm making for a friend, showing the differences between semi-realistic (compared to what I normally draw, this is possibly the closet to semi-realistic I can get), cartoony, then chibi. I was inspired by one of Mark Crilley's videos showing the differences between cartoony, and realistic.
Anyways here's the first part of it:
Image
My complaints with this sketch (even though it was rushed):
-I find the eyes a bit too far apart; I may just be me though
-The head shape
-The shading; its a dark skinned (think milk chocolate) character, so I had some trouble finding the right amount of shading to do.

And here's a link to the video if anyone is interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzEPzMeZGrw

Yeah they say the eyes should by their width apart when facing forward. The eyes themselves look good though

I agree. ^

Also, when drawing realism the bridge of the nose is usually more noticeable.
TBH, though, it is a good drawing.
