This is my first serious attempt at drawing anything. Sorry for using notebook paper but it's what I had :P
Anyway, advice on getting the proportions on the head better would be MUCH appreciated!

It's pretty good. :) Especially for a first serious attempt.

Yeah, that is pretty good a first real try. I'm kinda new to drawing myself, but I'd say you need to make the eye a little rounder. The shape and length in it is good, but you have some straight lines in it. Same for the iris part of the eye I think its called? The round part of the center of the eye besides the pupil. The left side of it is a little rounder than the right. And the pupil kinda fades at the edges. You need to keep the same shade throughout.

Your base proportions are really good actually, the only thing that needs changing is you've drawn the face without also drawing the skull behind it. (See redline in spoiler box). Everything else is a matter of style, and that'll develop as you get better naturally :) Keep up the good work!

Spoiler! :

Try making the head curvier, like when you draw the head don't focus so much on straight lines.. I had the same problems too..

Eyes are on the half way line of your head.

Eyes need to be a bit lower, but other then that it's a very nice first attempt.
