Lately, I’ve been considering tablets or tablet PCs as a tool to increase my art output – turn on a tablet, open an app, draw and share. It’s more for the quick drawing session than the longer one’s, in my opinion, which can be good for that quick burst of motivation or just plain itch to draw. For the next several weeks or however long it’ll take, I’ll be looking into various tablets from the popular iPad, the obscure, and the down-right expensive.
If you haven’t gotten a tablet yet but are considering it, take the journey with me as I consider all (or almost all as I can find them) that are currently available. For myself, I’ll be basing my search on the following:
2. Battery life
3. Availability of drawing apps
4. Saving and sending or transferring files to another device or memory card
7. Overall lifespan (i.e. how long before it dies or is no longer usable)
8. Pressure sensitivity
Well, on with the search!
