Not to be confused with Otaku USA Magazine, there is another Otaku Mag and it’s more international.
Otaku Mag began as a Romanian-language magazine, became bilingual and now, it’s in all-out English. This magazine featured young Romanian comic and manga artists who’s original works were either under-appreciated or unpublished my main stream media. According to their site, Otaku Mag “was a magazine made after working hours, with money invested by fans from salaries and day-jobs, with total creative freedom and without commercial pressure.” Over the years, they’ve offered specials with their magazines from DVDs, CDs, posters, and more along with special themes such as their current Sapporo Edition which features a beautiful cover art seen below.
If you’re interested, there are previews of articles and contributors for the magazine within the magazine at their site. There are only 1000 copies available worldwide with a price tag of 7.00 Euros. For the first 200 orders, the lucky ones will “all have a special handmade ultra-candy crafted SEFEU underground infrared-zine with special aerodynamic packaging and a lovebite from Dracula-land!” How can you say no to a lovebite from Dracula-land?
