I’m talking about the Yiynova DP10 HD I mentioned earlier this month. I received my tablet monitor very quickly but considering I ordered from Amazon, they’re usually very good about shipping things out really fast. Here’s some of my initial impressions of the DP10:
First, the packaging was really nice. Everything was nicely laid out and it wasn’t a bother to open and find everything. In the package was the monitor, the cord, disc, instructions, and the pen. Thankfully, a AAA battery was also included for the pen which I didn’t think would be there but it’s a nice surprise in my opinion! It’s always a good thing when you don’t have to hunt for a battery to try something out.
Secondly, it’s about the weight of a regular drawing table or iPad and about the size of a legal sized paper, more or less. It looks great from the initial unpacking and if it’s something you’re looking out for, the monitor has no matte finish to it like the Cintiqs.
Last, this part may bother you or not but the instructions included are written in Engrish. You can pretty much comprehend the instructions and they’re really detailed and to the point but if you’re a grammar Nazi, this might be painful for you to read. Speaking of instructions, I just want to mention that if you have had a Wacom driver installed on your computer and you wish to install a Yiynova, you will have to uninstall your Wacom driver first before you can install the Yiynova driver. There is a compatibility issues between the Yiynova and Wacom driver so a little heads up about this little tidbit.
