Kodansha USA is not wasting any time. After forming in 2008 and working through American partner Del Rey, Kodansha began to turn it’s eyes on running it’s business on it’s own in the West. After the heels of splitting with Del Rey, Kodansha made another bold move by buying Vertical in 2011. After about a year or so of publishing it’s own mangas, Kodansha has worked on the next thing – having it’s own manga-reading app.

The Kodansha Comics app is available at the iTunes store for free. Most volumes are priced for sale at $4.99USD and if you purchased through the iPad, it will also be available on your iPhone. Sweet! Manga titles available so far are Arisa, Cage of Eden, Fairy Tail, Mardock Scramble, Until the Full Moon, Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei, and Ninja Girls with more titles becoming available over the months.
For those who have Andriod, Kodansha is looking into creating an app for you guys so sit tight! For more information of the Kodansha Comic Book App, click here.
