One member recently mentioned that he was getting web forgery notices when he was doing searches here at Manga Tutorials. For those not in the know, web forgeries are a type of phishing scheme where a website impersonates a legitimate site in order to attain usernames, passwords, credit card info and other sensitive information. The most common method if encountering this is either through an email as a link or a java script-run tool that automatically loads the illegitimate site.
If you also encounter this when browsing “Manga Tutorials”, I suggest you do the following:
1. Run a virus scan on your computer, preferably several.
2. Update your computer and browser so you get all the latest security measures
3. Check your browser option and make sure phishing, attack site, and web forgery notice/security is turned on.
4. You can also disable Java/Java script add-ons if you want to be extra careful.
As far as I have checked, Manga Tutorials is not in any web forgeries or phishing list and the search box in the site works fine. Scammers are proliferate in the web so do practice caution if you get an email from Manga Tutorials that you weren’t expecting, has spelling errors, just have a link, etc and if the website acts funny as described earlier. And do please contact me if you encounter anything weird.
