What better way to commemorate a 50th anniversary than creating a manga? That’s what the US Armed Forces is doing to celebrate the Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security between the United States and Japan.
The manga is being created by the folks behind Mahō no Kaiheitai Pixel*Maritan (Magical Marine Pixel*Maritan) which is a “manga/CD set that teaches Japanese people how to talk like a U.S. Marine — with profanity”. It will be a four part manga that will become available this month with each additional issue released throughout the year. It is Japanese language only but if you’re interested, you can get them for free right here. The characters are cute, sporting a loli/chibi-type look which you can view at ANN.
I don’t know about you but I’d like to check those manga out and maybe practice my Japanese reading skills!
