I got an email recently from Interested (Inexperienced) Artist about the Oekaki Room. Let’s see the question…
Your oekaki looks like a clean and friendly one, and so I am eager to learn more about it.
Do you enforce your rules strictly? I drew for a bit at one that, unfortunately, didn’t, so I thought I’d ask.
Also, is the reason there appears to be only one page of “common” and “11-star” oekaki because I am not a signed in member?
Yes, I (and fellow mod Chihiro) do strictly enforce the rules. I actually had to temporarily ban someone early on because they got so enthusiastic with drawing Oekaki’s that they ended up posting several images in a room in one day. FYI, one of the rules is “One Oekaki per member, per day” and I take that rule seriously. Now, to be fair, I do warn you at least once if you break any of the rules but if you decide to disregard that warning and break the rule again, I will then move to banning you. Depending on how serious the infraction, I may ban you for a day, several days, or much much longer.
As for there only being one page of the Common Room and 11-Star Room – well, that’s because there aren’t enough oekaki’s posted in those rooms. The more images are posted in the rooms, the more pages it will have. A lot of people have been hanging out in the Doodle Room since it’s the best place to just try out the Oekaki (and thus the multitude of pages) plus the other rooms require more time and skill in order for you to post there.
Anyways, I hope you do join and try it out!
