Earlier this month, I mentioned a new Coalition that was formed by many worldwide manga companies to strike down scanlators and protect their assets. Some scanlators have complied and have taken down said licensed manga’s on their own volition or on request. But did they really take them down?
Not so according to Siliconera that states that some scanlators have only just removed any visible links to a series from the main site but if you do a Google search, had the series bookmarked, or are savvy enough to figure out the address pattern – those removed series are still available. Whether it is a “cat-and-mouse game with publishers” as the situation is described is true or not, I see this as a long and hard fight for both sides.
