In a prior post, I mentioned that I have found a solution with a “core login for everyone from the forum, gallery, blog, and the groupboard.” For the non-web-designers out there, let me explain that sentence a bit more. Basically, one login and one account will allow you to post in the forum, comment on news articles in the blog, and go into the groupboard as well as post items for the gallery. Yes, you will be able to post items for the Gallery.
The current gallery mostly shows off the works of those who do not want to create an account and would just like to share their artwork with others around the world. The new gallery will not only have the current Your Art gallery but it will make room for artwork by members. I am still debating whether to limit it in some way such as only allowing long-time (1 year+) members or members who are doing commissions and so on but that is still up in the air.
Members will have their own gallery folder which has all their artwork in one easy location. Other members can leave comments, rate it, fave it, and if they like, view it in a slide show. Watermarking and copyrights can be placed if the member chooses, and if they want to make notes on certain parts of their artwork, they can do so as well. If you like someone’s artwork, you can subscribe to their gallery and receive up-to-date notices if and when they update with new artwork.
