Recruit Company is trying something different and fresh. They’re trying to connect young Japanese manga artist with English speakers directly with their new iPhone App aptly called Manga from Japan.
With Manga from Japan, you can listen to music while reading the manga, leave twitter messages directly to the artist, and of course, read the latest manga. The current available manga is In the Drawer by Kaori Tsurutani, a “CHIBA TETSUYA” prize winner in 2007. The app costs $1.99USD which you may find here. It is unknown if the app will automatically update with a new manga or if you will have to purchase another Manga from Japan app to get another manga. Either way, it’s a rather interesting way to connect fresh new Japanese artists directly to English-speaking audiences.
