If you want to become a full-time manga-ka, nows your chance! Yen Press is holding a content to search for new talent and they’re mighty serious about the “new” part. Only artists who have never been published are qualified to enter the contest. All they have to do is send a 32-page comic by January 3, 2011. That’s a little over a month to get your stuff together and send your submission in.
Details are sparse as to who will own the copyright for the work or what compensation is to be expected but I figure something like that will be negotiated upon after the contest is over. Yen Press has published original works by Svetlana Chmakov, graphic novel adaptations of popular American novels, such as James Patterson’s Maximum Ride and Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight.
